The Caribe Orange Beach - Live in Luxury While on Vacation

The Caribe Orange Beach is one of the most luxurious condo properties on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Condo units are spacious and amenities are many. As soon as you walk into one of the condos, it is apparent that the Caribe is not just another condo complex. In fact, the Caribe is probably the most popular private resort among locals, who jump at the chance to spend time there with friends who are owners.

This is one property that I would certainly recommend to those who ask for lodging suggestions. My family has spent many pleasurable days at the Caribe. My parents are one of the original condo owners in the first tower.

To get the negatives out of the way first, it is pricier than the average condo on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Also, the Caribe is located across Perdido Beach Boulevard from the Gulf of Mexico, so for those who want to be directly on the beach the Caribe might not be the best choice.

The fact that the Caribe is across the street from the beach is a positive for many beach tourists. It is usually less crowded during peak times. Since it was built off the beach it was possible to cover enough area to make it a full resort. There's not much that a guest would want to do on a beach vacation that he can't do at the Caribe.

The interiors of the units are what you would expect from a luxury condo: spacious rooms with high ceilings, huge master baths with both a shower and a whirlpool bath, and an upscale kitchen.

One of my favorite things about the Caribe Orange Beach is the views of Perdido Pass from the balconies on the Pass side of the resort. I can literally spend hours per day lost in my thoughts, enjoying the views. Dolphins jumping, a fishermen pulling in a trout, a boat sailing by, children playing on Robinson Island ... if the weather is decent there's always something picturesque ... not the least of which are spectacular sunsets.

The Caribe docks are just a few steps away from the condos. Fishing is not only convenient to the condo units, it is often very good.

Though the Caribe Orange Beach is not directly on the beach, the Gulf can easily be accessed by walking under the Perdido Pass Bridge. You might not make it all the way to the Gulf because there is a very nice beach on the "Caribe" side of the Pass. The bridge provides some nice shade during the heat of the mid-day sun, and the beach is usually uncrowded because it is an undeveloped part of Gulf State Park.

For those who don't feel like walking, there is a free trolley to the beach.

Several large pools, both indoor and outdoor, are scattered throughout the property. Two of the pools are zero-entry, which makes it nice if you have young children. All of the pool areas have hot tubs.

One of the favored amenities is the lazy river, which is surrounded by a massive deck that never gets too crowded.

Other amenities include gyms, a golf putting course, tennis courts and meeting rooms.

Adjacent to the towers is the restaurant, Cobalt.

One thing to consider when booking a condo at the Caribe Orange Beach is "beachside" or "pass side." Beachside is actually across the highway from the beach, and the condo towers set back pretty far from the highway. From the bottom floors your view is going to be mostly parking lot.

The best views are on the side facing Perdido Pass.
