Deception

by Cindy
(Cobourg, ON)

Deception by Randy Alcorn is a great read for a holiday. Not only is it almost 500 pages long, so it really lasts, it is a real attention grabber.

Detective Ollie Chandler is a Columbo-type character who is trying to solve a very intriguing murder case that has many twists and turns. In the midst of it all, Ollie and his fellow investigators discuss their faith, sorrows and family issues.

I enjoyed this book on my holiday. The detective case has all the mystery and intrigue I like in a book, the conversations tackled issues like faith, and grieving and it gave me something to think about. There was enough suspense to make it a real page turner, but the plot was simple enough to follow allowing for breaks for other holiday fun.
