Emerald Coast Coffee & Grille

by Lisa
(Tyrone, GA)

A Family Breakfast

Last summer my family and I ventured to beautiful Gulf Shores on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

We like a nice, satisfying breakfast before hitting the beach - something that will fill our bellies and keep us from getting cranky when we are enjoying the warm sun and sand.

The Emerald Coast Coffee & Grille fit the bill. Emerald Coast Coffee & Grille is located at The Wharf on Main Street in Orange Beach. We were told it had replaced Starbuck’s. But this is no Starbuck’s. They have a full menu and the food is first-rate. The breakfast items are very unique and breakfast is served all day.

The main reason to go is their amazing coffee. They import coffee from all over the world. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to coffee and their blends are delish!

My husband loves Greek food and was wild about their Santorini Spanokopeta. The pastry is light and the filling is hearty. I had the Catalan, which is like a frittata. It has sliced potatoes and lots of caramelized onions (yum!).

My kids loved the Funky Monkey drink (we came back again for smoothies too). My youngest kids, eight and three, ordered from the kid's menu and enjoyed it. My 11 year old ate off the adult menu. She had the Classique (ham, egg and cheese).

The staff was a joy and very accommodating to my family of five. We chose to sit outside and people watch, but I think it would have been fine to dine inside with the kids.
