Fish River Grill No 2 in Foley Is No "Dive" No More

Correction: Fish River Grill No 2 is no longer a dive in ambiance since moving to their new location at the Plaza Shopping Center in downtown Foley. What began in a run-down looking brick ranch is "all growed up" and looking GOOD in their new setting. Here's what is good about the new location: There is plenty of parking; the walk into the restaurant is met with twinkling lights, a water-fountain and a view of the seating area through a gorgeous stained glass mirror. There is plenty of seating and the air-conditioner works just fine!

The restaurant boasts shiny marble floors (I KNOW!) with tiny tile insets. The ceiling is coffered and backlit. The walls are painted a pleasing blue with oak wainscotting. The bar is one you will feel quite comfortable pulling up a seat against.Fish River GrillIt is still casual --- you eat on plastic card tables, get served in plastic trays and rolls of brown paper towels flank each table. This is still a shirt/shorts/flip-flop kinda place --- with ATTITUDE. Signs and tees boast "Redneck Dive" and you'll most likely hear the local vernacular spoken. So if you are wearing a tie? Loosen up! ... and get ready to be "blown away." Here menu items warn without ratings --- like the Baldwin County voted favorite "Hurricane Burger," It will spin your head if you aren't careful --- and you won't mind one bit!

Fish River Grill

Now why all this talk about ambiance? Because in the old building ambiance was the last puzzle to the piece that kept eating at Fish River Grill No 2 something of a "dining experience." Now? You'll make your mama proud to introduce her to this new location. Today I saw families, couples, children of all ages enjoying everything from Mississippi-raised Catfish Filets to their famous OMG Shrimp PoBoys with Crawfish Etoufee.

So if "ambiance" was the only thing keeping you from trying what I think is some of the best Southern-Style Seafood this side of New Orleans, LA then take my word for it --- Fish River Grill No 2 "ain't" a dive "no more, no more, no more, no more ..." GO!

608 South Mckenzie St Hwy 59, Foley, AL in the Plaza Shopping Center --- Between Subway and Superior Furniture.
