Gulf Shores Beach House Rentals

Have you ever rented a beach house? Most people haven't.

Not that long ago the preferred beach rental was the beachfront motel. Most of those motels have been demolished to make room for condos; however, very few beach homes saw the wrecking ball during the last coastal building frenzy. That's good news for those who want an alternative to to a rental condo or just want to try something different.

Just as condos have their advantages, so do Gulf Shores beach house rentals. You aren't paying for amenities that you don't need or want. You can drive your car to the front steps to unload your groceries, beach toys and family. You don't have to wait on the elevator after a long day on the beach. Your kids can make a little more noise. And best of all, you can have your own little piece of sand.Gulf Shores Beach Houses

A Gulf Shores beach house rental, even at peak season, is a lot less expensive than most people think. Granted it isn't cheap, but nothing is cheap on the beach during peak season. For a large or extended family or for a group of friends who pool their money, a beach home could actually be the most cost efficient rental option.

During the off season, renting a beach home is relatively inexpensive, and it might very well be no more costly than renting a home of similar size inland, especially if you plan on staying awhile. If are considering spending part of the winter on the beach, check prices. You might be pleasantly surprised, and even more so if staying directly on the beach is not a priority.

Many beach homes have swimming pools. Economically, a good option is to rent a home with a pool within a short walk of the beach.

Probably the most popular areas for beach home rentals on the Alabama Gulf Coast are West Beach in Gulf Shores and the Fort Morgan peninsula.

West Beach has homes for rent beachfront, within walking distance of the beach, and directly on Little Lagoon. Rent near Little Lagoon Pass and you can have easy access to both the Gulf of Mexico and Little Lagoon.

Many beach visitors like the Fort Morgan peninsula for the same reason others don't. It is somewhat isolated from most of the beach attractions, shopping and restaurants. The farther towards the tip of the peninsula, the farther the drive back. If your family enjoys nature and doesn't need a lot of diversions beyond "the beach" then Fort Morgan might be the place for you.

Rental homes are available in Orange Beach, but they are few in number compared to Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores. Book early for an Orange Beach home.

Ono Island is an exclusive island that can be accessed by vehicle from only one bridge. Ono is a popular rental area for those who want to vacation away from the crowds. Waterfront properties face Old River, Bayou St. John or canals. If you have a boat, Ono Island might be a good choice.
