Gulf Shores Dolphin Cruises

While it is usually easy to see bottlenose dolphins from the shore, Gulf Shores dolphin cruises offer the beach visitor an opportunity to see more dolphins up-close. Most tour operators offer money back guarantees if they can't find dolphins. Money might have been refunded before, but I have never heard of an instance.

The many touring companies operating near Gulf Shores vary in their pricing, services, itinerary, and amenities.

Take some time before your cruise to decide where you want to go and what you want to see on your Gulf Shores dolphin cruise. Venturing into the Gulf of Mexico does not mean that you will see more dolphins. In fact, you are likely to see more dolphins by staying in the calmer waters of Terry Cove, Wolfe Bay, and the Intracoastal Canal. However, getting into the Gulf might be a thrill for those who have always been the one on the beach watching the boats zoom by, but never been on the boat. Be advised that you don't have to get far into the Gulf to get seasick.Bottlenose Dolphin, Teeth and Eye, USA
Choose the time of day that best suits your family. Most people are going to enjoy a tour near the end of day, especially during the summer, when the sun is beginning to move towards the horizon. Your family will be more comfortable and you will probably see more dolphins. As the day moves towards towards dusk, the dolphins become more active.

Some of the longer tours will take you into the more remote waters. These tours provide a picture of what the Alabama Gulf Coast looks like away from the beaches and the crowds. You will also get a glimpse of what this area looked like before it was "discovered" by the rest of the country.

Several tour operators have added glass bottom boats to their fleets. A glass bottom boat adds little, if any, to dolphin watching, but it literally provides an extra window into the Alabama Gulf Coast that could only be surpassed by actually getting into the water with snorkeling or scuba gear. However, if the water is murky on the day that you've set aside for your dolphin cruise, you will not see anything at all through the glass.
