Hooked on Felix's

One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to eat at restaurants that offer a relaxing atmosphere, breathtaking view and tasty cuisine. I received that and more when I visited Felix's Fish Camp Grill in Mobile, AL last year. I was in town for a conference when a few coworkers invited me to dine with them at Felix's for dinner. They raved about the delicious seafood as my taste buds began to perk up in anticipation.
Upon arrival at Felix's, I was overcome with an instant sense of regret. I had left my camera back at the hotel! I didn't think that a dinner date in Mobile with coworkers would spark a Kodak moment, but I was wrong. The eye-catching boathouse décor of the restaurant, coupled with a spectacular view of Mobile Bay had me wishing I could capture this aesthetically surreal dining experience on film.
I am a "water person" who loves boats, views of lakes, rivers and oceans, and most of all - seafood! That brings me to the best part of my evening - dinner! I enjoyed kicking my meal off with a bowl of spicy seafood gumbo and a salad, and savored every bit. For my entrée, I ordered the broiled crab cakes with a side of pan-broiled mushrooms. The serving size was hefty enough to where I had very little room left for dessert, so I decided to pass on it. However, I made a mental note to order either the Key Lime Pie or Lemon Ice Box Pie on my next visit, as I am pretty certain that these tart treats are sure to float my boat (pun intended).
I have been bugging my husband about making another trip to Mobile ever since I dined at Felix's. Although there were plenty of other things that I enjoyed about my visit, this was clearly the highlight, and I would recommend this restaurant to any seafood lover desiring a delicious meal and a purely delightful dining experience. I am hooked on Felix's, and upon visiting this wonderful restaurant, you will understand why!!!
