Joe Patti Seafood - A Pensacola Landmark

Joe Patti began Joe Patti Seafood Company in 1931. Since that time the seafood shop has grown into a large waterfront store and a Pensacola landmark.

Captain Joe Patti met Anna in Pensacola in 1928. They were both from Sicily, and they had actually been born about 10 miles apart. However, they grew up, immigrated to the United States, and started their lives in the new country before they met each other. After they were married, they soon went to work on their new venture. Anna sold the fresh bay shrimp from their back porch that had been caught by Captain Joe earlier in the day. Most of the shrimp was bought as fish bait. They continued to sell shrimp like this until 1935, when Joe Patti's Fish Market was started.

Joe and Anna ran Joe Patti's Seafood for many years. After they died, the store was taken over by their extended family. It is currently run by Frank Patti. The company works hard to provide the excellent customer service that Joe Patti's has always been known for.Joe Patti Sign

Joe Patti's has evolved over the years, adding extras like Anna Patti's Amangiari Gourmet Shop and a sushi bar. Not only does Joe Patti's offer exceptional shrimp and other seafood delicacies, but they also offer online shopping and overnight shipping. The biggest appeal of Joe Patti's is the enormously large selection of seafood.

A visit to the store is like walking into a seafood museum, and you are bound to see some things that you didn't know existed and a few things that you can't imagine that anybody would eat. The first time that we visited Joe Patti's we were amazed at what they stocked. We even found bluegills (my favorite fish), and I have never seen that sold commercially. At times, you can find royal red shrimp there. Joe Patti was the first fisherman to catch these deep water shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico.

While you are waiting on your seafood to be weighed and packaged, it's fun to watch the employees scurry about, efficiently taking care of more business than it seems humanly possible. If you can break away from that entertainment long enough, the walls are lined with memorabilia from the earliest days of the business.

The Patti family has kept a hands-on approach to the business from the beginning and places their main emphasis on neighborly service.

Joe Patti Seafood has become famous around the world for both fresh and frozen seafood. Orders come from all of the states, and dozens of countries around the world.
