Lamberts - An Experience!

As a child, I grew up begging to go to Lambert's with my family, having heard about their famous "throwed rolls." I can say now that when I finally went, I filled up so quickly on rolls and fried okra that I had almost no room for the huge portions they delivered. Despite that fact, every time the waiter/waitress came in with a cart full of warm, delicious rolls the size of my face I shot my hand into the air, ready to catch the next throw.

While waiting for my food I was kept so entertained by the staff that I almost didn't care about the food itself. The excitement of watching for the small tricks that our waiter performed was almost too much for me as a little girl.

When asked if I wanted some mustard, I replied that I didn't like mustard, especially not on my rolls, but the waiter insisted that I should try it and then proceeded to spray "mustard" on me, which thankfully turned out to be nothing more than silly string. Shortly thereafter I was offered some fried okra, which turned out to be a fake possum, much to my chagrin and terror. This "terrifying" experience got me so excited that every time the okra came around, I had to ask for some.

Lambert's is an experience that will keep you so entertained and well fed that you will be marking off on your calendar your next available weekend for a trip to Foley.
