Lambert's Mixes Fun and Food!

Lambert's of Foley Alabama
One of our favorite restaurants in the Gulf Shores area is Lambert’s – Home of the Throwed Rolls. They are located a few miles north of the beach and you either have to go early or be ready to wait! Its pretty common to wait up to an hour for seating at peak dinner time but they offer a nice long front porch with cool misting fans and old fashioned glass bottle cokes for 1.00 each while you wait.
Once inside, get ready to eat! The menu is mostly “home cooking” style foods and there are plenty of options. In addition to your meal, the staff will come around with “pass arounds” which include fried potatoes, macaroni and tomatoes, fried okra, molasses, apple butter and a few more items that you can get a spoon full of at any time!
The portions are more than generous and meals come with a super-sized glass of your favorite beverage. Just when you are settled in for a nice meal, the fun begins!
The most well-known part of a trip to Lamberts is the rolls. They are wheeled out on carts from the kitchen and then thrown to the diners! Be careful, as it’s not uncommon to get sideswiped by a roll intended for the person behind you! Just as you are all filling up on home cooked favorites and dodging rolls, the “pass around” staff will get started with their jokes and bring you trick spilled tea and stuffed animals from a pot as you hear squeals and giggles from all over the room. At the end, be sure to gather all of your leftovers for later.
Lamberts is always a two meal trip for us!
