Lulus - An Evening of Family Fun

Lulu's on the Intracoastal Canal

Recently, our family enjoyed a long holiday weekend camping out at Gulf State Park in Alabama. After a wonderful day on the beautiful white sand beach, we were ready for a fun family outing for dinner that would not involve waiting outside a restaurant for over an hour. After a short and pleasant drive down the highway, we found Lulu's.

What a great family experience for all! Upon arrival, we were told our table would be ready in approximately 45 minutes. However, instead of irritable kids and a long boring wait, we were treated to much entertainment.

For our older children, there was a fun-filled game of beach volleyball. Our younger children enjoyed playing in the enormous sand box (easily the size of a large playground). Dad and I enjoyed shopping in the Lulu's gift shop and there was even an local artist exhibit where we could purchase some wonderful local art. As Lulu’s is located on a waterway, we also were able to enjoy watching the boats pass.

During our wait, all types of tropical drinks were available as well as various other types of simple and fun entertainment.

When seated, we were quickly served excellent Gulf Coast seafood and enjoyed a live local band. The service was excellent and everyone treated us like long lost friends. The only thing lacking was a sighting of Lulu’s brother, Jimmy Buffet!

All in all, Lulu’s at Homeport is a 5-star dining and entertainment experience for all. We will most definitely return for an encore on our next vacation to the Gulf Coast.
