The Perdido Grande, Terry Cove - Orange Beach

The Perdido Grande condos on Terry Cove in Orange Beach, Alabama are spacious and luxurious. Many are available as rentals. There is little disagreement that most Alabama Gulf Coast tourists prefer staying as close to the beach as possible, but staying on the water, but off the beach, has its advantages.

The Perdido Grande is one of our favorite condo properties in the area. In fact, we liked it so much we bought a condo there and lived in it full time for four years. The Grande has much to offer. The property is made up of two buildings - East and West. On the beach, the buildings would be called towers, but since both of these top out at five stories they can't be called that here. Low density is one of the benefits of staying at the Perdido Grande. You will rarely be fighting crowds. The parking lots can fill up during holiday weekends, but otherwise the property is uncrowded even during the busiest times. The Perdido Grande

If you bring your boat with you or want to rent one, this complex would be worth considering as a rental. Each condo owner has a boat slip. Just check and make sure that the unit that you are interested in doesn't have the owner's boat in it; otherwise, the slip is probably yours for the duration of your stay.

Even if you don't have a boat, the docks are great for fishing. From the docks of the property, we have caught just about every species that swims in Terry Cove.

The condo units are all three or four bedrooms and average close to 2000 square feet. The cost of renting one of these huge condos is less expensive than the average (and usually smaller) condo unit on the beach. The size of the condos is really nice for those with large families. The master bedroom and the two smaller bedrooms are separated by a long hallway so parents can have their privacy and kids can make a little noise in their own rooms.

The Grande has ground floor units where the patios open onto the lawn. The views aren't quite as good, but it is nice to walk in and out of the condo unit as often as you please, without needing an elevator. On front end units, children have both grass and sand to play in. On side units there is plenty of grass.

Each bedroom has a bath, and the master bath has both a shower and a whirlpool bath. Verify with your rental agent that the whirlpool bath is operational. Believe it or not a whirlpool is not a priority for some condo owners.

Other amenities include a fitness center, a tennis court, hot tub, and swimming pools, indoor and outdoor.

The Perdido Grande is located on Canal Road, just before Shipp's Harbour Grill and Sportsman's Marina.
