Romar Lakes Condos - A Low Density Condo Complex in Orange Beach
Romar Lakes Condominiums is a low density complex located in Orange Beach. The complex is made up of five buildings, each with three floors and fifteen units. Many of the units are available for rental. The property could be perfect for those who are looking for a rental alternative to beachfront. Located directly across from the beach, and with deeded beach access, the condo units are very nice for the price. At approximately 1100 square feet for two bedrooms and approximately 1300 square feet the condos are roomy enough for two families to pool their money for a rental and not be constantly bumping into each other. If you are nature lovers, there's plenty of that at Romar Lakes. The complex takes its name from the freshwater lakes that surround the property. Egrets, cranes, great blue herons and brown pelicans are just a few of the waterfowl that inhabit the lakes. Alligators are often spotted in the lake, and sometimes they are big ones. Raccoons, opossums, and coyotes are common. Bass and bluegills are caught in the lakes, so be sure to bring your fishing tackle. Very few places in the world would it be possible for you to catch saltwater fish in the morning on one side of the road and freshwater fish in the afternoon on the other side. The lakes are so close to the condos that it is not a stretch to say that you could catch them from your patio. A shady pavilion is located over the largest lake. Obviously you can't see the beach from the condos, but many guests enjoy the views of the wetlands from the top two floors, or they enjoy being directly on the lakes on the bottom floors. If views are important to you, any building except "D" has great views of the wetlands. The complex doesn't offer a large amount of outside amenities other than the lakes, but there is a large pool. Romar Lakes units are not luxurious condos, loaded with amenities, but they have nice, uncrowded floor plans, more than adequate for those who are going to be spending most of their vacation outdoors. They could be an especially good choice for snowbirds who plan to stay awhile, or those who are looking for a long-term rental. My wife and I once owned a Romar Lakes condo. It was a rental property, but we did live there for nine months while our home was being rebuilt after Hurricane Ivan flooded it. We enjoyed our stay, even though the circumstances weren't great, and actually we weren't in a big hurry to move out. We enjoyed it and I think most who rent there would as well.
