Sisterchicks

by Paige
(Chinook Springs, Washington, USA)

I recommend Sisterchicks on the Loose by Robin Jones Gunn for a good beach read. This is the first in a series of Sisterchick books.

What is a Sisterchick? Gunn defines a Sisterchick as "Someone who knows the deepest wonders of your heart, loves you like a sister, and provides a reality check when you're being a brat."

The entire series is good for the beach as they are light and funny. They are easy enough to read that the distractions of the beach will not effect one's ability to understand the story. The first story in the series is about two women traveling to Finland.

Each story is about a trip involving two women, usually best friends who haven't seen each other in a while or two friends who have yet to meet.

The books are labeled Christian fiction, but they're more spiritual than religious, though God does appear in Bible passages and the women feel the Holy Spirit. I would actually call these stories Christian Chick Lit. The stories do not need to be read in any particular order so grabbing any Sisterchick book will do.
