The Best Steak Ever at Ruth's Chris

by Martin Lee
(Portland, OR, USA)

If you are ever in the Mobile area and haven't heard of a steak house called Ruth's Chris, you have been missing out! Their fillet cuts like butter and with all the side dishes to choose from, there is something for everyone. Make sure to try the fillet mignon (petit cut available for the ladies) and as one of your side dishes, the garlic mashed potatoes - yum!

If you like asparagus, they have a side that's smothered in hollandaise sauce and it is awesome! The sautéed mushrooms are a must try too so don't forget that. The side dishes are served family style so pick a few for the table and don't forget to wash it down with a cup of vino; they have an extensive wine list including a variety of Napa Valley, CA wines!

Lastly, they have a great desert menu so be sure to save room. My personal favorite is the crème brulée and if you need to wake up from the food coma as I do, order an espresso with a twist of lemon and you will have just eaten the best meal in the state of Alabama.

For those of you who are chocolate lovers, try the chocolate sin cake (get one to share at your table). This is a good desert to help finish drinking any remaining wine in your bottle, and the dish is rich enough that four can share this desert. Hope you love your meal as much as I did.

Enjoy!
