The Oyster House

Oyster House of Gulf Shores

Much More Than Just Dinner

One of our favorite places to eat in Gulf Shores is The Oyster House restaurant. We typically vacation with others and end up with a large group for dinner, which can be difficult for some restaurants to accommodate, but not this one.

First of all, plan to wait awhile for seating but take the time to enjoy the shops surrounding the restaurant. Another fun treat during our visit is the gorgeous lake that is filled with fish. Feeders are found in many areas along the decks in the back. If you are dining with children, this is a wonderful way to pass the time as you wait for your table and the kids will love watching the fish surface in a frenzy for the food!

Once inside, you will find more than enough room for your group and often you will be seated with a great quite a view of the lake. Dining at sunset is our absolute favorite, as the lake glistens so beautifully.

After soaking in the surroundings, you finally get to the important details – the food! The Oyster House is well known for their fresh seafood in every type of dish from the most basic to gourmet cuisine.

We enjoy the shrimp dishes and always take advantage of the amazing salad bar. A quick look at the available side items brings us back to our Southern roots - cheese grits and okra are always on the menu. After your meal, enjoy a walk around the decks and lake to stretch your legs and be sure to use the photo opportunity with the lake in the background!
