Town and Country Convenience Store: The Best Tasting Spicy Fried Chicken in Foley

The Best Tasting Spicy Fried Chicken Doesn't Come From a Restaurant Chain

FOLEY, AL --- There is a little known local fact in these parts: the best Cajun injected, juicy, crispy fried chicken does NOT come from a fast-food regionally recognized chain. It comes from a convenience store and locals have discovered it- Town and Country Convenience Store.

Translate this information and process it as to how it might affect you?

"There are only two other gas stations that sell this Krispy Krunchy brand of spicy Cajun breaded chicken that I know of, so we tend to sell out," says Steven Myrick, manager and son of owners David and Cheryl Myrick. "Most convenience stores sell 'Champ' brand chicken which isn't as good," Myrick adds.Town and Country Foley I can testify to the "goodness" of the crispy fried chicken as my husband typically brings home a breast or two at least once weekly. He, like other locals have discovered it is better than what is offered in most fast food restaurants chains specializing in fried chicken and agrees with Myrick --- it is spicier, juicier and crispier than what is served at other convenience stores.Town and Country Foley

But we especially enjoy the honey topped biscuits (can you say addicting?) Be SURE to grab some of them as soon as you can!

I like the convenience of filling up with gasoline and being able to purchase a good tasting snack in a clean, friendly environment. That I see the owner's son working (typically from open to close) tells me of the dedication to quality and standards the owners must have. The only other "help" I see is Sandy Smith who is proud to say she has been employed by Town & Country Convenience Store (located on the intersection of Cty RD 12 and Hwy 65) since it opened --- Oct. 2008.Town and Country Foley

So here is my recommendation for those who are visiting the Gulf Shores beaches and are looking for something a little different and a lot of fun: Before embarking on a 2-3hr kayak float on the Bon Secour River from BeachnRiver Kayak Rentals (just a couple of miles West of Hwy 59 on Keller), take a slight detour Northwest to Town & Country Convenience Store. Pick up refreshments, spicy chicken, biscuits and other snacks. Have a picnic before your float on a picnic table under the shade of giant water oaks and grapevines at water's edge, or put the food in a thermal lined backpack and either have Shelly or Jerry hold the food for a picnic when you return. Feel the coolness of the spring-fed creek below. Enjoy nature while enjoying your meal.

When you've completed your meal --- feed the turtles. They love Town & Country Spicy Fried Chicken and Honey Topped Biscuits as we do!
