Wonderful Lulu's

by C Barkley
(North Port, FL)

Lulus at Homeport Marina is a must stop when in Gulf Shores! Owned by Lulu Buffet - sister of Jimmy Buffet - you can expect the obvious! Great waterside dining and ambiance, awesome live music nightly, and wonderful margaritas!! With an awesome seating area right on the water dining, anytime can be an experience!

The first time we went there we went in the afternoon and dined with the friendly birds that come right up to the table - they are quite the characters. The next meal we had at Lulus, we went in the evening, which was beautiful at sunset. After sundown, when the weather turned cooler, we were still comfortable after the staff put down the vinyls and turned on the heaters!

Lulus' margaritas are some of the best that I ever had, but beware of drinking too many! They do pack a punch! The food selection was mostly seafood but there was a little bit of something for everyone from the fish tacos (which are a personal favorite of mine) to the handmade onion rings and fried shrimp and oysters.

Those who don't like seafood will find great favorites like hamburgers on the extensive menu!! Lulus also offers an expansive gift shop with lots of items to commemorate your trip to this whimsical fabulous restaurant!! This is one experience you don't want to miss if you are in the area.
